Daniel Thai first became involved in Ultimate in 2004 but didn’t start photographing the sport until 2009. Living in Dallas, Texas, he dabbled in shooting local tournaments until the USAU Club Championships landed in his backyard in 2013 and exposed his growing interest in photography to some of the highest levels of play. He first worked with Ultiphotos in 2014, and his work has been featured on Ultiworld and in USAU Magazine.
Daniel began playing at Michigan State University with the Burning Couch, which qualified for nationals in 2006. He also coached the Michigan State women's team, Infamous, to nationals in 2008 before moving to South Korea. There he got the chance to play in international tournaments, such as Dream Cup and Jeju's Gnarly Nines. Today he still plays in local leagues and with competitive club teams.
